It's a fishtail... It's an M...for Monahan and Mighty Bluegill.
In Japan it is traditional for artists to sign their work by using a chop or seal with their personal monogram. Typically it is written in kanji. With in Japanese culture it ranges from awkward to unacceptable for an outsider to force their name into the Japanese kanji. Therefore I wanted to have a chop that would acknowledge the roots of this incredible art form going back to Japan, but at the same time not present myself as something that I am not. I designed and carved this symbol myself and I'm proud to use it as my signature on my work. I think it also makes a pretty sweet logo on apparel and stands on its own just fine.
Currently there are less than 20 of these caps in existence. It's a Yupoong brand cap-one of the best on the business.
