Pulled up from 600' deep in the keys, the Alfonsino is a fish that has evolved eyes to catch its prey in low light conditions. It also has a pharaoh-like chin from chasing prawns the coral. This may explain their color and amazing flavor--they are a favorite of sushi-chefs.
This original was printed on kinwashi paper with oil based inks. Finished with water colors and wet mounted to another piece of washi for archival stability.
