A friend in the fisheries industry inherited this scandalous fish and I had the opportunity to print it! Biologists were electroshock sampling a river and this big boy came up, and didn't survive the sampling. They kept the fish, and one was going to mount it. All would have been fine, except he decided to brag about it on social media....
There was outcry. All the way to the state capitol. The people wanted justice, and the the boss biologist wanted the fish accounted for. One guy passed it to another, and another guy put it in his girlfriend's freezer, and they broke up. Things died down, and then the ex-girlfriend gave the fish to my friend and we printed it together.
In this composition, I've brought the fish back to life. He's the old guard and king of the river. When the stocker rainbow are placed they are dumb as they are delicious. Life was good till those biologists came around.
Printed with oil based inks on on ma (hemp) rice paper. Finished with India ink and watercolor. Mounted on gatorboard and ready for a custom frame.
